No sound for our TV connected to Comcast DVR cable box

For the last few days our TV has no sound. The TV is cable connected via a comcast DVR box. I wonder if I need to exchange the DVR box. The TV sound works for other HDMI ports such as for Roku and DVD player. Thus far restarting the DVR box has fixed the problem, but it seems to happen more often.

PS: One time we had no sound and the picture scaling was too big so I couldn't see the bottom of the screen where you can navigate to Settings / Help to restart the DVR box.

mjh5 Hello, I am sorry you are having sporatic issues with your box. Have you tried swapping out the HDMI cable?

I can try swapping the HDMI cable the next time the problem occurs. I don't believe the cable is the problem since restarting the DVR box has fixed the issue thus far.

@mjh5, If the issue happens again, and you have a moment to swap out the HDMI cable, could you let us know if that resolves it or if you still need to restart the cable box? That will really help us narrow down the cause. Also, have you tried plugging the DVR into a different HDMI port on the TV to see if the issue continues there?
