No wifi connection

It’s been almost a week now since I’ve had no Wi-Fi connection in my room. I’ve tried calling xfinity but no help. I got a new cable box, still nothing. I check the settings and it say I’m connected but still nothing. I can only watch streaming channels, I have a smart tv tcl and I can watch google channels. When turning on my tv it says no WiFi connection. All other tvs work just fine. Could it be the router?

Hey there, @user_u03myz. When you're referring to a new cable box do you mean a modem or one of our wireless cable boxes like the Xi6? Are you able to get an ethernet cable to the box to see if it will activate that way?

We have a second cable box (Xfinity Cisco RNG150N) and it connects to co-ax and to tv (insignia) with HDMI, but apparently the box needs to connect to WiFi and can’t.  Now we have a pop up that won’t go away (saying can’t reach Xfinity site because no connection) so we can’t use the t.v.

i have plugged in box in other room directly to Xfinity router with Ethernet, but can’t find instructions on setting up WiFi on it.

We found that after having the box plugged into the wire, then trying it again on the t.v., it didn’t have any more issue in finding the internet.  Not sure how it resolved itself, but we did walk through the online assistant which said our box was working fine, so maybe that check triggered some kind of update
