Overlapping recordings?

I have the package where you can only record two shows at once. But sometimes a scheduled recording does not record when a previous recording has ended even though they are not overlapping on the schedule. 

Is this supposed to be happening?

Hey there, user_e3f3a3, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding the issue with your DVR. What device are you using in order to set up the recordings? Are you using an X1?

I believe the box is a XG1-V4.

Thanks for confirming the box type, user_e3f3a3. That is our 4K DVR box. How far apart are the recordings scheduled when the 2nd one does not record? Was the service working properly in the past and then this issue began or have you always noticed it?

I appreciate you letting me know they follow one another, user_e3f3a3.. When a recording ends at 8 PM and the next one begins at 8 PM, it can cause it to be clipped or not record at all. With only 2 spaces to record, you would need both open for that first minutes. Do you have any of the recordings set to stop later than the time shown on the guide? Do you see the option to clip one of the recordings (start or stop recording one program to record the other)?

Not sure I understand "clip."

Does this mean that with my Xfinity package I cannot record one program after another? But if they don't follow closely I can?
