Pixelation for a while now. Tried resetting boxes

Pixelation is driving me crazy

Same here.  I've had issues for 2 years since Xfinity swapped my hard cable connections for 2 wireless tv boxes.  Pixelation being one of the main issues.  It primarily occurs intermittently on HD channels, including sports channels that I watch most of the time.  Other problems over the period have been picture freeze to black screen that usually corrects itself.  I have two tv sets, one in the den next to my modem.  Another in the living room.  A friend actually hard wired my den tv into the modem, still considered a wireless connection, I guess, since the Xi6 box remains active??  No issues since.  The living room tv is about 35 feet away in our 1-floor home.  Multiple Xfinity technician visits have found issues with my living room tv related to outside cable connection, replacement of HDMI cable, change of port from HDMI1 to HDMI2.  I have replaced the Model 8 modem 4 or 5 times, wireless box to the living room tv twice, including just recently.  From what I've read pixelation is generally a connection issue.  Wish I could get Xfinity to answer this question:

I have an Xi6 wireless TV box. It has intermittent pixelation on specific channels only. The gateway is about 35 feet away in another room, and the issue persists intermittently. Can Xfinity check the RF signal levels and error counts to the gateway and the wireless link quality to the Xi6?

Good morning @user_umvu1n, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity forums, I hope this message finds you well. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with pixelation, I know how frustrating that can be, but you have come to the right place for assistance. Are there any other devices that could be causing interference between the wireless box and the modem, like another router?

@XfinityJeff No other router or anything I know of that would cause interference.  The recurring cycle of pixelation (sometimes random & infrequent, other times annoying to the point I can't watch), picture freeze, picture freeze to black, or just goes to black (sometimes issue resolves itself quickly & channel operates normally, sometimes I have to restart the TV box) began about 2 years ago.

Had a Xfinity tech in home for another problem (can't recall what that particular problem was, but I think pixelation) and suddenly started removing cables from the walls.  Didn't ask me for permission, just said "all customers are being converted to wireless".  I have had issues ever since.

As my original post states, I have 2 tv sets.  One in the den sitting next to my modem.  That set had issues until a friend suggested I hard wire from the modem to the tv.  Wireless box still connected as well.  I've had very few issues since.  The living room tv is the ongoing problem.

I do a lot of research online and enjoy this forum.  I also discovered that black screen issues could be a function of the tv but would like to make sure all matters with Xfinity have been explored.

I scheduled a tech visit for this coming Thursday, July 30.  Can he check the RF signal levels and error counts to the gateway and the wireless link quality to the Xi6 in the living room?

Thank you very much for reaching back out to our team. I am glad to hear that you have that service call set up to look into that problem. The technician should be able to check on the signal levels to the device. If you would like me to check on those from here, I can do that as well.

Hello @user_0b3d8e thank you for reaching out on our community forum! Is this something new that has been happening? Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps with the Xfinity assistant online? Also have you attempted to reset your modem at all as well?
