Remote App discontinuation problem

My disabled relative is unable to use their remote to play recordings and I have been doing that from my house (miles away) using the xfinity remote app which works over the net. That was recently discontinued and the "replacement" is the web remote. Unfortunately the web remote uses the TV as the UI and so is useless since I can't see the TV. 

The Xfinity stream on the other hand lets me see the recordings on the cable box. but I can only play them on my computer, not on my relative's TV. 

For me, it would be possible to use the Xfinity stream to do what the discontinued app did if instead of streaming on my local device I could have it play the recording on my relative's TV. 

Hopefully this suggestion will get to someone at Xfinity who can pass it along. Going through the support system is useless.

Howdy user_li9yp5, appreciate the question! Just to ensure we have our ducks in a row on the request, does your relative have Xfinity services their location, or they are only using the Xfinity app to access content?
