Tiling when streaming dvr
I've been having trouble with tiling and losing sound during the tiling for months. "Red" who claimed to be an L3 told me you don't store the data on the cloud. I told him he wasn't an L3 if he didn't understand the X1 Cloud DVR stored the recordings on whatever cloud based server you are using. There is simply too much data being transferred to put this on the cloud. (I'm a business and data analyst who has worked with both AWS and Microsoft's cloud services including storing data and transferring data. I do know what I am talking about. I also worked for a local internet service provider in the for five years.)
The reason the X1 worked great and then stopped working so well is you went from using hard drives to using the cloud. The cloud is not a good use for this type of service, especially if you don't own your own servers and control the amount of buffering that is occurring. In fact that is one of the issues...I'm seeing no signs that there is a buffer, so when the signal gets interrupted, instead of playing the buffer until the signal is reestablished, and starts buffering again, you get tiling. I hate to do it, but the only option I see right now is to go back to Tivo. Tivo uses hard drives and is solid as a rock. If you have no other solution to get me a hard drive, then that will be my next step.
Sincerely,
Cindy [Edited: "Personal Information"]
