Voice Control pairing not working.

I just got a new XI6 box and a remote.  It all worked for a few days and now the voice control does not work.  I tried the resetting and the three digit code of 981 to no avail.

I can pair the remote to my TV and my receiver, but it does not allow me to get voice control.  I can control channels and everything else with the remote, just no voice.

Tried going to setup and doing the pairing thing with voice control and it says it cannot pair and try again.  I have tried a few times to no avail.

Its either the remote (XR15v2) or the box.  I tried an XR15 and I couldnt get that to work with anything on the Xi6.

blufur1 Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. I am sorry for the frustration! Since your standard buttons work but voice doesn't, the remote is likely stuck in IR (Infrared) mode instead of RF (Radio Frequency). The Xi6 boxes specifically require a secure "handshake" for voice commands.

Please try this specific sequence:

  1. Hold Information (i) and Home (or Setup) simultaneously until the light changes.

  2. Enter the three-digit code shown on your screen.

  3. If it fails, ensure the box is in line-of-sight during pairing, as interference often blocks the RF signal. 

Please let us know if you continue to have issues.

This does not work.  I got a new Xi6 yesterday and the new box doesnt want to pair either.  When working with AI, it says that the Xi6 is not implementing Bluetooth connection.  One sympton is that the LED flashes when I hit the buttons.  It said this is a common issue with Xi6.  I may have to go get another box.

Yes, I did.  I finally got it to work, but don't ask me how.  I did the A+D, 981 and hit the MICROPHONE button (and not the Xfinity button per the instructions I was given, but stupid me should have looked at the little manual they gave out which had that), and that seemed to do it.
