X1 multiview issues?

I’m thinking about changing boxes so I can use multiview. Is the change seamless or have there been issues?

user_yrd57g Thanks for reaching out! We have seen some great feedback to the Sports Multiview on X1! You will need a compatible 4K TV box (Xi6 or XG1v4). Customers with non-compatible X1 TV Boxes will be eligible to swap the equipment through an on-screen prompt that will guide everyone through a no-cost upgrade (a self-install kit with 4K TV box will be shipped). Just say Multiview into your X1 Voice Remote!

When I try to upgrade, my screen says that it is unable to complete the process due to an error.  Help!??

@XfinityMartyR

Marty,

Readers will have to scroll back for my question, which really SHOULD be pasted immediately above YOUR answer to my Q, to keep things in context.

But your answer really begged the question.  So why not post my QUESTION in front of your answer, BEFORE you answer?

And no "We have seen some great feedback to the Sports Multiview on X1!  "  does not answer my Q.

WHERE IS the "feedback" ?  Not in THIS thread.

I just received my new equipment from Xfinity in early March of 2025 so that I could get Multiview, however I was sadly disappointed.  Everything I find on line talk about being able to watch baseball and football at the same time,  and that's great, but we are just a few weeks away from March Madness and I'd like to be able to watch multiple basketball games.  Usually 4 different networks carry March Madness, so make that your Multiview option.  Yet every time I say "Multiview" into my Xfinity remote the screen simply pulls up saying they're no scheduled Multiview programs today and to check back later.  I understand that perhaps Xfinity didn't have fully selectable Multiview, but there should be a pre selected Multiview during sports season.  For example, I know I probably can't select 4 random networks of my choice and try to watch on Multiview, but if there are basketball games on NBC, ESPN, ESPN 2 and ESPN U then Xfinity should make that a Multiview selection, or a Multiview "channel" for the evening.

Lastly, your tech support people need training in Multiview.  I called and spend over 1 hour talking with 3 different tech people and they were all clueless about Multiview.  One even told me I needed NBA League pass and a subscription to YouTube TV to watch Multiview.  Ridiculous!  I pay several hundred a month for my Xfinity TV entertainment.  Give people what they want... the opportunity to watch multiple channels on your Multiview feature...if it really exists.

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_e510b8.  Multiview will feature channels showing pre-selected professional sports and select events; customers cannot control which channels are available in Multiview. Events will vary based on sports schedules and timing. When there are games on and Multiview is active, customers will be able to access the feature the following ways:

  • Home screen, For You, and Featured Apps
  • Sports Zone
  • Sport-specific hubs (NFL, MLB)
  • Sports app
  • Voice search (“Multiview”)
  • Customers won’t be able to access this feature outside of the Multiview programming windows.
