X1 service poor performance on long recordings

I record and watch a lot of sports.  The recordings are often over 4 hours long.  The performance of the X1 system is very poor during playback of these long performances.  While watching playback, if you press any fast-forward it consistently takes 4 to 5 seconds to respond.  This doesn't happen with short recordings.  Press play to stop fast-forward and there goes another 4 to 5 seconds.  This slow performance is not acceptable.

The other problem I have had for years is watching a long recording (like a football game) while the game is still being recorded.  Pressing any playback keys (fast-forward, pause, Skip) will often cause the system to freak-out and return the recording to the start.  It happens so often that I keep a notebook and write down the current position of the playback before I press any remote keys so I can x5 to get back to where I was before the X1 service errors and returns the recording to the start.

I have had my X1 service since it first came out and am a happy customer, but it really performs poorly on long recordings.  Not looking for any reply, just hope these issues make it to the proper support/development team.

Anon208534 Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. I definitely want to make sure that these concerns do get the proper support and attention. Can you share with me any troubleshooting you've done in the past for the DVR experience?

The only troubleshooting tool I am aware I possess is rebooting the box, which I do regularly with no effect on the issue.

Sounds like you are describing cloud recordings.

@tbill1 Isn't everything on the X1 box a "cloud recording"?  I thought the X1 didn't have local storage.  Does it?

Only if you have a cloud dvr.

Don't really care how Comcast implemented the DVR, but the performance should be acceptable either way.  If it is cloud stored it is no difference that streaming Netflix, and their performance is far better than what I get on long X1 recordings.
