X15 remote stopped controlling x1 cable box

All was OK until the remote was not recognized by x1 cable box. I tried to factory reset, seemed OK, but then I went to pair with the cable box, pressed the key combination, with the light color change, but the screen on TV didn’t show ANY NUMBERS TO ENTER!

THIS IS BEYOND ANNOYING!  Somehow I get it to work again for a number of days, and then the problem is back!

MAYBE THE TIME HAS COME TO CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TELL THEM THAT I’M NOT INTERESTED IN PAYING NORTH OF $200 PER MONTH TO PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT PROVIDING THE SERVICE I SIGNED UP FOR.  MAYBE they will  UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THE WORD CANCEL.

My remote will not pair to my TV, stopped working in the middle of the night8/8/26. they send you through all the hoops, try this or try that and nothing works.

I can't even get customers service to help; they cut you off while you're still typing. TV bill due tomorrow 300.00 and the services still not working

they said someone will call about an appointment, still no phone call, I pay 550 a month for 2 services. I think it's time to seek a company who care about their customers, I ask to change my services I have to talk to someone, but if I want to upgrade it happen instantly. sad.

I’ve been with them for over 40 years. I found it when it works, it’s great. When it does not work, you either get lucky and connected to someone who knows what they’re talking about, or you get stuck on the merry-go-round of automated service, that doesn’t work for you.

The only language they seem to understand is when you call them and say that you want to CANCEL your service, especially if you pay them $550 a month. Every once in a while, the corporate clowns need to be reminded who they work for.

I have a problem which came up on its own where all of a sudden my remote is not recognized by my cable box. I try to follow their instructions on the website, things don’t work, and they’re stupid. Computerized assistant doesn’t accept any option to talk to a real person. What makes this even more annoying is that other people seem to have similar problems with the xr15 remote and the X1 cable box.  I try a ton of different things and once in a rear while my remote is recognized again… until the next time, when I get to go on the same frustrating merry-go-round.

user_2hhe19, I see you are having similar issues as the op. If you've tried the steps outlined here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/programming-your-xfinity-remote, like the factory reset, it may be a good idea to replace the remote. We can ship one out directly, or you can pick up a new remote at the local store when you are ready.

Works today, but experience has been that the problem comes and goes.  The problem appears to be somewhere in the cable box software.

I don’t think the physical remote is the problem…I got two new remotes, when I swapped out the X1 box. Every time the problem occurs, it’s with BOTH REMOTES.

I’ve called tech support on the phone and spent HOURS on the phone. They tried to call me back, but I wasn’t able to answer, but they didn’t provide any link for me to check the status.  THIS IS GETTING REALLY OLD, REALLY FAST😡

@user_53r236 I can understand how frustrating a remote unpairing would be, especially if you are running into errors when trying to pair it again. This is definitely not the experience we want for our valued customers and I would love to see if we can help turn your experience around. You mentioned that the remote is currently working. How often are you seeing the remote unpair from the cable box?
