xfinity DVR PC PX013ANM

On the DVR PC PX013ANM there is an Ethernet port in the back. What is it used for? Is it an input or output? I have an Amazon Prime TV Cube that has an Ethernet input, can it be connected to the DVR?

Hello, @sgtjdc thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. You've contacted the right place for assistance and want to help answer your questions. From what I can find the Ethernet port on the PX013ANM would be used if you wanted to hardwire the set-top box to your modem/gateway instead of using the WiFi connection, so looks to just be an output option.

I don't see the Ethernet port would support connecting another device to the set-top box such as the Amazon Prime TV Cube. When investigating. Please let me know if that was helpful, or if there were any other questions I can help answer.

Thank you. Then if you do not a have a cable connection nearby but you have an Ethernet cable from your Modem, then you can receive the signal via Ethernet?

@sgtjdc with the HD DVR being the main hub for your X1 service, that needs to be connected to a coaxial outlet to receive the signal. The Ethernet is used more for stability of the Apps the X1 as those are connecting to the internet to be used.

So if there is no outlet for a coaxial connection the set-top box wouldn't work with just an Ethernet connection to a modem.
