Xfinity Stream App less delay than cablebox

My cable tv is about 30 seconds behind people that have other cable companies and 30 seconds behind the xfinity stream app. Why does this happen?

user_k1iaam Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us here on our Community Forum. This delay is perfectly normal and it is very uncommon to find Live TV and streaming perfectly 1 to 1. This happens due to retransmission as it's broadcast through multiplexers that compress and combine multiple channels into one QAM frequency which is in turn sent to your cable box. As technology grows we hope we will be able to narrow the delay but we appreciate your feedback.

Thank you but that doesn't explain why tv for other cable companies is ahead of my tv.

@user_k1iaam I get that. There are a ton of factors that go into how long it takes for the signal to reach your display. The transmission delay is going to vary between providers, channels, neighborhoods, and even homes. It all depends on the route the signal takes, your proximity to the main hub, the number of splitters and amplifiers, and more.
