XG2v2-P can the box use Ethernet Or does it need the coaxial? Received cable box for basement tv. Basement doesn’t have coaxial. Trying to see how much good the box will be.

Not aware of any X1 boxes that use ethernet. They do have WiFi boxes.

Howdy user_h1sd99 👋 I appreciate you taking the time to bring your question to our community, and you're in the right place for answers! Since the XG2 is a cable set-top box, it does rely on a coaxial connection to bring in its channels and channel information. Without a coaxial connection, you would not be able to get any of your channels. Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
