Your Upgrades Caused X1 to Stop Working

Got a text from you guys recently stating that you were upgrading neighborhood mods and to expect service interruptions. Shortly after that, I turned my tv off one night and when I turned it on the next morning, it was stuck on the welcome screen no matter what I tried.  Returned that box to the Xfinity store, brought the replacement home and hooked it up.  It worked for a few days and then the same thing…stuck on the welcome screen.  So, had to have a technician come out.  This guy says there are all kinds of problems with the sleek new x1 boxes and he got a different box from his truck, which works.  Sort of.  It is very sluggish, literally takes 5 minutes to bring up Netflix, every time you push a button on the remote.  Come to find out this is an older model box which does not work well with streaming.

This is unacceptable!  I want a new box that works with your new hardware upgrades.  How do we make that happen?

Good afternoon user_e2e433. I will be happy to look into this further. Are you receiving any error codes, or error messages on the box when trying to load any streaming Apps? Here are some additional troubleshooting steps. Please let me know if this helps.

There are no error messages.  Just an old, sluggish, rather large box that even takes several seconds to just change channels.  It was installed by one of your techs so pretty sure it was hooked up correctly.  The equipment is old and apparently incompatible with your upgraded “improvements”.

That is good to know, @user_e2e433! Thank you for getting back to us with that information. You should have the option of swapping your TV Box out for a new one at an Xfinity Store. Would that work for you, by chance?
