Advanced Security blocks Port Forwarding

I have several IP cameras  (in addition to the Xfinity cameras) set up and have a port open so that I can view them remotely.  When I enable the advanced security, it blocks the port and I am no longer able to view the cameras.  As soon as I diable the security, the cameras are accessable.  The advanced security shouldn't block access to the ports. I can see notifying if someone accesses the ports, but don't block them.  The advanced security is useless to me as is.  Any way to resolve this?

I would like the advantages of the extra security and shouldn't have to keep it disabled.  At least I am not paying extra for the advanced security.

It has caused HUGE issues for us in the security industry.

We offer our customers remote access to all their camera systems through our DDNS server, this new security has caused us to not be able to do this as it blocks all incmoning traffic to the port foward rule we create and blocks the port. We now as a temporary fix have to offer the customer the stupid cloud based system for them to see the cameras remotely, which as we all know does not work worth beans. Our hard connection straight to the dvr through port fowarding was great, now our options are like i said above, using cloud based tech, OR disabling the customers intenet securty, which in turn makes us liable for anything that may happen because of it. IT has caused huge issues for us and there does not seem to be a fix from comcast yet.

Heads up .. Looks like Xfinity just enabled the "free" trial of this as the default setting to most of the cable modems on their network lastnight or this AM 4/7/2020.    10 users of Xfinity in various states across the US had thier port forwarding BREAK this morning.

I get that Xfinity is trying todo best they can to keep everyone safe but a drastic change like this pushed everywhere does have impact.

Noted to turn it off you have to DISABLE  xFi Advanced Security

go to xfinity.com

login

click the wifi icon

click More

click My Services

click Disable
