Assigned devices no longer assigned and are now renamed

I have about 20 devices connected to my xFi Modem/Router. I went through and created Profiles for everyone in my family and assigned devices to each profile through the xFi mobile app (and then also through the online portal). Some devices lose their assignments and are now renamed back to their MAC address or some other random numbers. This has happened twice now. Is there a way to keep this from happening? I do not want to go through and rename and reassign 20+ devices every time I want to pause a profile or group.

This is happening to me too. Anybody found a solution?

 

In addition, I tried to assign a device and it reset back to being unassigned.

The only thing I got to work was this:

1. Disconnect the device from the WiFi network. 

2. Then go into the Xfi app and delete that device. 

3. Once the device has been deleted, go back to the device and reconnect to the WiFi network. 

4. THe device will come up as a "New" device and you can then rename it and re-assign it and it then stays assigned.

 

I have not had any luck with anything else. Hope this helps.

I arrived to the same solution after running out of options and trying that as well. Interesting that it only happened with a few devices but not all. I don’t know what caused it.

Was the problem sporadic for you or for all devices you had?

No it was completely random on my end. I seem to have a good handle on it now, it is just annoying that it doesn't work the way it should.
