Delete email address after cancelling xfinity services

For personal security, I want to completely wipe out my comcast.net email address. I want it completely deleted so no more emails sent to this address will be collected. Please provide instructions for how to do this. The account has been inactive for more than 5 years, but it still collects spam, so saying is goes inactive is a lie. I've been checking it about twice a year and delete more than a thousand spams each time.

chelseags - Hi there, and welcome to the Xfinity Forums community! We're really glad you're here. If you're looking to delete your Comcast (Xfinity) email account, you can do so by signing in to your Xfinity account online. Head to the "Users" or "Settings" section, find the specific email address you'd like to remove, and follow the prompts to confirm the deletion. Just a quick note: removing a secondary email address is different from deleting your primary username, which is tied to your main account login. Deleting a primary username is not possible: as it is tied to your account login. As a quick reminder, starting in June 2025, Comcast.net email accounts will begin transitioning to Yahoo Mail. This change will roll out gradually through 2026, and there's no action needed from you until we notify you that it's time to make the move. If you decide not to move your email to Yahoo Mail, you have the option to download or export your email data, or simply close your account. However, please be aware that if you choose not to transfer your account, your Comcast.net email address will be deactivated, and your email data will eventually be deleted. To save your email data or close your account, you can get started here: export.xfinity.com. Included below are a few helpful links with more information. If you have any questions or need help along the way, we’re here for you!
