Greetings @Dr01083, thank you for posing this question. The Xfinity app has been updated, and now requires the Android 12 operating system or higher. In the Google Play Store if you locate the app and click "about this app" it will detail the required operating system.

Thanks for all that you do, @BruceW! This was a great catch, I went ahead and sent it over to our team that handles documentation.

That is just so not acceptable! Its not like Android 11 is archaic and I sure am not going to put out hundreds of dollars to get a new phone when mine works just fine OTHER than getting/using the Xfinity app. Where are those of us with Android other than 12 or above supposed to get access to all our services now. I guess the website is the only option? That is ridiculous. The world is all about apps these days so Xfinity decides we don't need one unless we keep buying new phones. How much would it cost the company to update the app to make it compatible.....really?
Not sure if this still works, but as a workaround, you can try using an Android VM (Virtual Machine) app on your PC, like the MuMu player, then download the Xfinity app to it and do it from there. Good luck !

Hello @user_f7fs6b, and thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately advanced support features for certain functions do require the app to handle them.
Official support for Android 11 was ended February 5, 2024, by Google.
This does mean they stopped providing security updates for it as of that date.
While we have continued to update the Xfinity App to allow it to function with Android 11 up until recently, we are no longer able to do so and continue to guarantee your account security.

That's a great idea, but a simple pin code would not necessarily cover all the potential security vulnerabilities nor meet requirements for SDK components utilized within the App that need to be met for services that include things like payment processing and protecting Personal Information for our customers from other applications that could potentially be released on the Android platform designed to exploit them.

I AM LIVID!!!! I Have spent days on the phone trying to figure this out! How dare any company remove our ability to use this app, without notice, for a very reliable operating system like Android 11. This is ridiculous and you need to put it back!!! Everybody doesn't have to buy a new phone just to use an app on a service they pay for! I cannot control my children's devices without the app!!! AND you need to train your customer service representatives to know what the actual problem is instead of having customers spend days on the phone With no guidance except to call Samsung. This combatability issue needs to be returned. There is no reason to disenfranchise all these customers because they use an older, very good phone. Ridiculous. Who is in charge of this???
@user_n55n5e It is indeed ridiculous. We were told on this forum that we can do the same things on the website but that is simply not the truth. NOT ALL app features are available on xfinity.com and Android 11 is not exactly stone age technology so why can't they just upgrade the darn app..
@user_n55n5e What you describe is typical every time I have some sort of problems. They not only do not know the answers but are not willing to admit that they don't know [Edited: "Inflammatory"] Sometimes they say they will get the solution and call me back but usually never do making me have to start all over again.

I'm having the same issue. The app was working, then suddenly was not compatible with my android 11 devices (any of them). What happened to the app?

What are the non-Android/iOS options that are available to us? I am assuming a browser will do the same, if it is on the same network.?.?
