Not a question. Notification to Xfinity Team that the Test portion is broken

Not a question. Notification to Xfinity Team that the Test portion is broken again. It all started between last night and this afternoon (10/6/2026).

Xfinity app on iPhone 15

While testing the gateway->to->device signal strength, the test would fail and the app crashed.

Received this result and 2-3 seconds later, crash...

While testing the entire home network, the test completed but listed three devices (laptops) as unable to test.

Then when I tap on a failed test I get this.

When I tap try again on the failed test. The app crashes. Not good. This is a problem in the Xfinity Cloud.

I suggest the Xfinity stop trying to execute these test through their "broken" infrastructure. Come up with

a way to run a test from the web browsers again and skip the signal strength testing. I think your gateways

are getting confused about the true nature of the home networks and the holding onto stale MAC addresses

inside your cloud infrastructure and the home gateways.

All I really what to know is the speed to my device from the Internet. Not the Wifi signal strength between the

gateway and network device (useless).

Example of a clean test through my Firefox browser from Speakeasy Speed Test. I have 300 Mbps plan.

Hello @user_zwe4nj, and thank you for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback and document what you’re experiencing with the Xfinity app.

I can definitely understand how frustrating it would be to have the testing feature repeatedly fail or cause the app to crash, especially when you’re simply trying to verify the performance of your connection.

We also appreciate you explaining what information would actually be most useful to you from these tests. Reports like yours, including the specific behavior you’re seeing and when it started, are helpful in identifying potential issues. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
