restart router when not at home

i am away from home for a few months.  I monitor my thermostat and cameras.  I was told to unplug and then plug in my router-modem.  Is there a way to do this when not at home?

Hello, @user_dc3edd, I hope your time away is going well. You can reset your modem from the Xfinity My Account app. Do you have the app? From the app if you go to the Internet section you can select “Troubleshoot” to reset your modem. This might not work in all situations, but I would give this a try!

@XfinityJosephA This did not work.  I have ordered a device on Amazon that may work.  It automatically turns on the modem when it senses a power disruption.

Wow, that is a cool device and capability. I hope this works well! Thanks for giving the app a try. In scenarios where the modem is offline or there's no power the app is less ideal. Is your modem offline for a power issue or another issue at the moment?

I bought the ezOutlet3 on Amazon.  It claims to do an automatic reset of the the modem when it senses no internet.  The xfinity app did not work.  My other thought was a timer that every night would turn off and then turn on and cause the modem to reboot.
