Spectrum Message

Whenever a non-Apple product tries to connect to xfinity WiFi we get a weird message from ‘Spectrum’ WiFi telling us that we need to update WiFi driver but we’ve NEVER had Spectrum and it BLOCKS and prevents us from connecting to xfinity. Seems like a virus but nothing we’ve tried seems to work. Literally can’t use the one android phone or Kindle anymore. Started 2 weeks ago.

I am having the same problem -- similar, that is.  My xfinity wifi will disconnect and I run the trouble shooter and it says that it is having trouble connecting to "MySpectrumWiFi10-2G"  I do the skip this, and when the trouble shooter is done it says, "Not Fixed" listing MySpectrum unable to connect.  My Wifi kept dropping and I would have to go and "connect" so I bought a new Modem and it worked great then started doing this same thing again. I do not have nor have I ever had a subscription to Spectrum.  Anyone know why this is happening?

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I am truly sorry to hear that your phone isn't connecting to your in home Wi-Fi. I know that when I visit my mom I don't have any data service where she lives and I would go nuts if I couldn't connect to her internet. You mentioned that you have tried to troubleshoot and have skipped a step. Have you attempted to troubleshoot without skipping that step? Also, have you gone in and tried to forgot networks that you have previously connected to before trying to connect to your in home Wi-Fi?
