Where do I manage push notification settings in the xfinity app

I love getting rewards from xfinity, but the push notifications from the mobile app are not consistent. More often than not, if I get a notification from the app, it is hours after the rewards have dropped and they are no longer available.

I just got an email today advertising what to expect this week, and a "link" to enable notifications. The link takes me a page with a QR code to access the app. I use my Android phone, scan the code, open the app, but nowhere can I find how to manage my notifications. When I search for instructions, they say open the application, go to the Account tab, select Account Settings, and tap Notification settings. When I follow those steps, I do not see an option for Notification Settings.

Where did the notifications settings go? I would like to see what I have set up for my push notifications, and make sure I get more consistent (and timely) notifications for new rewards.

Thanks.

Hello @zhappychef and thank you for posting your concerns and sharing your experience on our Xfinity Community Forums!

We can certainly understand wanting to receive timely notifications for Xfinity Rewards opportunities. 😀

If you're not seeing a Notifications Settings option within the Xfinity app, it's possible that notification management may have changed in newer app versions.

In addition to checking the app settings, you'll also want to verify that push notifications are enabled on your Android device itself. You can typically do this by going to Settings > Apps > Xfinity > Notifications and confirming notifications are allowed.

Keep in mind that factors such as device settings, battery optimization features, network connectivity, and app version can also affect when notifications are delivered.

If notifications are enabled both in the app and on the device, but you're still receiving them hours late, it may be worth ensuring the app is updated to the latest version and that battery-saving settings aren't restricting background activity.

We appreciate the feedback regarding notification timing, as insights like yours help highlight opportunities to improve the customer experience.

@XfinityCliff It would be nice if you could confirm that notification management has or has not changed in newer app versions. My android phone is running version 6.6.0 of the xfinity app. If is still available, tell me where it is, because I do not see it.

As I said before, the notifications are not consistent, and I do not think it is my phone. I think perhaps, it is the management of the software. Can you confirm that the software is programmed to immediately notify customers when new rewards are available?

@zhappychef I understand your concern. If the notification settings mentioned in our support instructions are no longer visible in your version of the app, and you're receiving rewards notifications hours after rewards become available, I can see why that would be frustrating. To better understand whether this is related to the app version, notification settings, or another issue, could you confirm your device model, whether app notifications are enabled in Android settings, and whether you're receiving any other Xfinity app notifications as expected?
