Xfi Settings…GONE.. Biggest Joke of 2024.

So, all of 2023 I can say I was able to go into the Xfinity app and check network download speed, change password for WiFi, add another network, split bands ( thought splitting bands is now able to switch between frequencies with the 6E compatible on two of my devices now)

I switched from 1200mbps to 2000mbps today. Upon changing I decided to look at all my devices in home and make sure they were connected. Couldn’t find the list in the app. In fact, I couldn’t find the network test ( full test, NOT testing the device only that I was using )

Went to chat on the app, the prompt even created a link to click on to test whole network speed. It wouldn’t open. Very frustrating

so I chatted with agent. Upon bringing to attention , he responded by saying the ability to see WiFi settings and everything was discontinued on the app in August 2022. How was I able to use it in 2023???

beyond frustrating. The agent even asked why I needed to know MY settings to MY network  I laughed out loud. Excuse me? Absolutely worthless control. Fix this Xfinity. Please

Hi there - it sounds like your Gateway wasn't properly activated. Under Account > Devices, you'll see a link to "Activate xFi Gateway or Modem". Please go through the activation flow if you have not already. That should fix the issue if I am understanding you correctly.

@user_8fittg   Primary users can personalize their Wifi network name, passwords, and check the speeds using the Xfinity app! Managing the network further is limited to keep homes safe, and the agent is correct in it being done a couple years ago. You can try to disable the Advanced Security feature to see if you can modify the network further with the steps here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/getting-started-with-xfinity-xfi-advanced-security. If not, customers have the option to purchase their own compatible gateway, and manage the networks on their own.
