That is certainly strange that it has been ongoing since set up, do you get this error after you submit your username and password? There are some really great troubleshooting steps for the Xfinity App here. Please let us know if any of those steps resolve the access to the App.
Yes I am receiving this error after I attempt to login with my username and password. Once I input my login information, I am immediately met with this error. I am able to login with my credentials through the web but no success through the app
Have you by chance attempted to reset the password to see if that has made a difference in being able to sign in?

@user_502sww That is certainly odd! Let's take a look at your account, and see if there is anything on our end that we can detect that is limiting you from accessing the Xfinity app. Please send us a direct message.
To send a "Direct Message" message: • Click "Sign In" if necessary • Click the "Direct Message" icon • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window • Press Enter to send it

Try deleting the app, power off your device, then re-install. This seems to help many. Good luck!
