xfinity app no longer works

I attempted to use my xfinity app to troubleshoot my wifi connection & i get a message that it is no longer supported.   I removed the app thinking there was a new one to use.  Nope.   Now it no longer shows up on my appstore.  How am i supposed to see what devices are using my wifi or running a test to see if there is an issue?

Same problem. It was working fine, so they broke it. They didn't bother updating the support page https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-xfinity-app. Still claims "Works with:

  • Apple (iOS 17.2 or later)
  • Android (10.0 or later)"

Yet my phone is Android 10 and app store still says "This app isn't compatible with your device anymore"

Isn't this kind of bait and switch change illegal?  Xfinity can change their app, but if they decide to make it incompatible, then they should be providing a device for free that can run their app. Or, revolutionary idea here, make it possible to manage the wifi using a COMPUTER.

Xfinity sent out a tech who decided to change out the modem hardware for a newer Wifi-6. He transferred the same configuration from the old modem to the new modem. After this change, surprise, the app started working again enabling visibility of devices on the network. Both of us were stunned. The app still reports that it is "incompatible" within Google play store, however, this now seems to be caused by Google slop and the new modem hardware was provided free of charge.  A short while later I attempted to login to my account online which requires 2FA, selecting verification via the app promptly reverted to "Looks like you need to update this app" loop.

user_1sfzy0 If you are being prompted to update the Xfinity app, and you have confirmed you are already using the latest version of the Xfinity app, then removing the app and redownloading it should resolve that error. However, if the Xfinity app is no longer supported for your device, you would be stuck there. Just like with other apps, as the software on your phone ages, it becomes harder for newer apps to perform as they should, and many app providers, just like us, do have to phase out support for older devices. If you are no longer using a supported device or your formerly supported device is no longer supported, some functionality will be lost when using the app. You still have access to Xfinity.com to help manage your account as well. Once you do update to a supported device again, the app should resume working as normal.

@XfinityAbby I can't get a new phone every time you guys decide to change your app so that it won't work. How about, make an app that works again. And then keep the app working? If you can't keep your app working, then abandon it for something that does work, such as a web-based interface.

@XfinityAbby So what are we supposed to do?   Why isn't there an app compatible for everyone?

Our team can forward your feedback about the app to our app team for review. Can you provide us the make/model of your phone?

That information is out of date and has been so since early June!! Please see https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-app/no-longer-compatible/6a21e4b2052cec7ac37ba668?commentId=6a21f8e0adf0282a75682cc0&replyId=6a22f3459c2bb2117e3cf6a9
