Xfinity hotspots

Why does my Android tablet not "see" XFINITY hotspots? I have the hotspots app installed. It will show that I am close to a hotspot, but it does not come up as an option to connect to. I can get on the hotspots with my phone at the locations with no issues.

@user_4c86aa - That is a great question and I know I'd be wondering that same thing too. For Android devices yes, you'll want to ensure you have the Xfinty Hotspot app installed and updated. The app will download and install the Xfinity WiFi secure profile, allowing you to automatically connect to the secure Xfinity WiFi network. You’ll be prompted to allow the WiFi Hotspot network to be added, and you may also be prompted to join the XFINITY network when you’re in range of an Xfinity WiFi Hotspot. I hope this info helps!

Not helpful at all! I said I had installed the hotspot app. It also loaded the security profile. This does not fix the problem. I also can't even get on the secure hotspot with my phone anymore. Hotspot was the only reason I was staying with Xfinity. It's time to switch to a fiber optic network for less money!

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it
