Xfinity WiFi hotspot connection is intermittent - view Xfinity WiFi certificates and configuration profiles on my iPhone

I have the Xfinity app installed on my iPhone.  Xfinity WiFi hotspots used to work great, but now the connections are intermittent. Sometimes hotspots connect, other times they don't or sometimes they drop after connected.

It seems odd because while my iPhone has connection issues, my work laptop connects just fine to the same Wi-Fi hotspot. Also my iPhone works perfectly when connected to other WiFi's.

I noticed that the xfinty-hotspot-app was installed on my iPhone, so I uninstalled it as directed by Xfinity information I found online. I only have the Xfinity app installed now.

I've been reading that this could be related to the Xfinity WiFi certificates and configuration profiles that where supposed to be installed when I installed the xfinity app.

I tried to view my Xfinity WiFi certificates and configuration profiles on my iPhone using these directions:
  - Once installed, your Xfinity WiFi certificates and configuration profiles are stored securely in your iOS settings:
  - Open your iPhone Settings. Tap General.
  - Scroll down and tap VPN & Device Management.
  - Under the Configuration Profiles section, you will see the Xfinity WiFiProfile. You can tap on it to view the specific certificate details and expiration date.
But I don't see a Xfinity WiFiProfile in VPN & Device Management on my iPhone.

1. How do I view my Xfinity WiFi certificates and configuration profiles on my iPhone and how do I update them?

2. Is there something else that could be causing this?

Thanks!

Hello @tacoma50, and thanks for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums.

You may also need to check Certificate Trust settings on your iPhone.

This would be found under Settings/General/About/Certificate Trust Settings.

If that doesn't work, you may have to uninstall the app completely, offload the app via your iPhone storage, and then clear it from the App store (for both apps) then reinstall the Xfinity App.

Please let us know if that works or if you require additional assistance.

@XfinityCliff
Hi,
1. On my iPhone(iOS version 26.5) in Settings/General/About/Certificate Trust Settings, I see:
      Trust Store Version: 2026040100
      Trust Asset Version  1013
   Does that look OK?

2. You had said: "you may have to uninstall the app completely, offload the app via your iPhone storage, and then clear it from the App store".
I am not sure what you mean by that. When I remove apps from my iPhone I normally just hold down my finger on the apps icon then select REMOVE APP. Do I need to do anything else to fully remove xfininty apps?

thank you.

The remove app option should remove the data from storage. That should be all you need to do.
