how do I remove GPC Signal Detected from my Xfinity Stream app?

What is a GPC signal and how do I remove it.  It appears when using Google Chrome.  It  doesn't seem to appear with other web browsers.

I started having the same problem on my brave browser.  When I go to stream XFINITY on my computer. The channels don't come up in their all-black. I try using Microsoft edge and Google Chrome when I go to the stream website. It doesn't move off of this XFINITY now connecting to your entertainment experience. So frustrating

Hi there @user_a0756d! Have you also cleared cache and cookies, and close out any tabs to see if this helps the issue?

Hi @Doctor-B

Can you attempt to turn the cookies on and let me know if this helps?

As some others have said, I have a problem with a black screen on the channel guide.  What's strange is that if quickly scroll the screen I can get momentarily see the channel guide.  I also get this above all of it...

GPC Signal Detected

Above that is some large mesh network design that resembles a snow flake.  I never had any of this before.  Also, I can access channels using the "find" feature but no channel guide anymore.

Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Forums, @emmpeebee . I know how aggravating messages like this can be. Is this happening on a wireless device, computer, or on a TV box?

@XfinityKimberlyB For me, it happens on Windows 11 Del laptop with Brave browser. The Edge browser on my laptop does not have the problem.

@XfinityKimberlyB

It happens on my Acer Chromebook. I've used xfinity stream on this chromebook since I purchased it 2 years ago and never had an issue.  I've tried clearing the cache, rebooting, etc. and nothing changes.  No other issues with anything on this chromebook other than xfinity stream

The image below is what I get.  I never saw this before January 5.  Now I can't get rid of it.  I can still click the "Live TV" dropdown to the channel guide but the channel guide has headers but a blank screen below where the guide should be.  If I quickly scan that black area, I can see an instant of some of the channel guide but it goes away and nothing is clickable. I also still have the image below above this page as well.

@emmpeebee That is odd, and definitely specific to the device in use. That symbol being see is not related to Xfinity in any way. Have you cleared the cache and cookies, closed all tabs, and restarted the Chromebook (in that order)?

I am having the same problem as everyone with Xfinity stream. I am using chrome but have the same problem with firefox and microsoft edge. I went to settings and then to extensions. I toggled off Avast Online Security & Privacy extension. My Xfinity went back to normal with all the stations showing up again. My recommendation would be to toggle off your extensions one by one and hopefully one of them will be the problem extension. I hope this is helpful.

I am having the same issue when logging into my account.  I am using Windows 10 and Brave browser.  I went into my cookie preferences and all are enabled except for personalized ads.  I did a system cleanup of temp files and such, no difference.

Hello @user_bf2096. I am sad to hear you are having issues with the Xfinity Stream app. It has been a couple of days. Are you still having issues, or were you able to get this resolved?

"That symbol being see is not related to Xfinity in any way" is BS, which for acceptable policy contract stands for Bird Screen.

Is it coincidence that this feature is being released at just the same time?

So, here's a work-around for Brave.  Enable "MoreTools->Developer Tools".  A couple lines down in the html, you will find "<div class="f-cmp-flyout-wrapper"><div class="f-gpc-flyout ">".  Delete that line, problem "solved".

When I called someone out on saying "not related to Xfinity in any way", the code behind the line above actually has the "drawing" of that thing you see at the top of the page, and the web page originates from xfinity.com.

I'm also using brave and this solution works for me. Is there any way to save the deletion without having to do it every time? Thank you

I suspect not.  The tool is intended as a debugger for the web page.  The typical use case would be an unmodified page following a reload.  So, it's not impossible, just that I don't think the took has the capability.
