Samsung Stream Favorites list omits channels with “&” in the name (A&E, H&I)

  • Device: Samsung TV model QN32Q8FAAFXZA, software version: T-RSLFAKUC-0090-1296
  • App: Xfinity Stream version: 2.4.4
  • Repro:
    1. Star A&E and H&I on xfinity.com/stream (they show starred in All Channels on the TV and on the web)
    2. Open Favorites on the Samsung app
    3. Those two are missing
  • Control: other starred channels without & do appear after delete-app + TV reset
  • Not an account/lineup issue: you can tune them from All Channels / Find Channels

user_yxxtyk Thank you for letting us know that you're not seeing certain channels in the Xfinity Stream app. My team will stick with you here until we figure this out together. Is your TV connected to your In-Home Xfinity network? Are you using an Xfinity gateway or your own internet hardware?

Hi! The tv routes through an xfinity provided cable modem. this is almost certainly a & bug on the app you guys provide to samsung (software guy here). i can view both H&I and A&E fine if i search for them from the all channels screen, but ... something goes arwy in the path between ... "favorite this channel" and ... the channel shows up. Both channels ARE favorites on the web app (xfinity streams) but get lost twixt and tween ... the xfinity samsung app just seems unable to show "ampersand names" in the Favorites filter. Common & bug!

I have reset the tv and it correctly pulled my web favorites for all channels EXCEPT A&E and H&I.

It is def a display bug on the favorites tab of the samsung app.

user_yxxtyk Thank you for the additional information! I just did a similar test, and saved H&I and A&E as a favorite in my Xfinity Stream app. Then went to the Xfinity Stream app on my Samsung TV, and A&E is not there but H&I is there.

Thank you, Marty!
Neither are there for me after deleting the xfinity app from the samsung, then doing a tv reset (60 sec power off), then re-installing the app.
All of the other favorites seem to be there, just not those two. I can see both in All channels, and I can search for them and watch them ... and I can "favorite them" on the samsung xfinity app, but they never show up in favorites. And they are def in my web stream favorites.
