You are in the right place and I am happy to assist you today. You can actually stream and use the cable box at the same time. 

• If you have Xfinity TV, you can stream to up to five devices at the same time in the home, with a total of 45 devices registered on the account.
  • The limit of five simultaneously streaming devices includes Partner Devices, mobile devices (iPad, tablets, phones) and computers.
• Outside of the home, you can stream up to three devices at the same time.
• If you have Xfinity Choice TV, you can stream to up to two devices at the same time.
