Xfinity stream TV app is terrible, the beta version was much better
The previous beta version of the stream app for my tv's was far superior to the new current version. The beta version had the ability to look at the channel menu easily while watching programming. You no longer have this option in the current version. Previously you would just push down on the remote, bring up the previous viewed channels, and below that was the option to the channel menu. After clicking on it the current programming you were watching would be in the corner and a smaller channel menu would occupy the right hand side of the screen. This is no longer. The only way to access the channel menu now is to back out of the programing the you are watching completely to the main menu. Then you pick live tv to bring up the menu and it always brings you back to the very beginning top of the channel menu, like channel 2 or whatever. It would be nice if it brought you to the spot in the channel menu where you were currently watching, like it used to do in the beta version. This is super disappointing and annoying. I was hoping for more options and bells and whistles when the stream app updated to the full version. You would expect there to be progress, but the new tv app is definitely a step backwards, the beta version was far superior. I will be considering ditching the cable tv portion of my bundle when my promotion runs out.

If they thought this iteration of the streaming app was an improvement, then clearly they weren't actually using it! I currently pay Xfinity nearly $300/month and have the Xfinity streaming app on 3 TVs. While the beta version wasn't even close to perfect from a navigation standpoint, it was really great from a convenience perspective. The new version is clunky, not intuitive, and an obvious regression. My assumption is that they are trying to push people back to renting their hardware. There's really no other explanation as to why they'd roll something like this out. First world problems for sure, but it's not like Xfinity is the budget play. We pay a lot for communications these days and when something is offered, adopted, and then/subsequently made to be markedly worse, you'd think there would be a fix on the way. I'm basically a moron, can't code, have no idea how the internet works, and have never designed anything in my entire life; but, I do know how a platform should function and flow (even considering and fully appreciating all of the different media onto which the streaming app would be applied). Again, hopefully there is a fix on the way. Big miss with this one, and quite possibly the start of a change of approach with my home cable. The X1 platform is great, and we pay the piper for it; but we are watching less and less of that, and more and more of the remote-set TVs (where the streaming app takes over). Fix this Xfinity, as this version is very nowhere near the quality expected.

The compression on this app is terrible. Football games are blurry. Tonight I have switched between watching the Sunday night football on my QLED tv through the Xfinity Stream and through Peacock…the difference is astounding! No judder, crystal clear picture on Peacock…on Xfinity there is judder, blurry image and jerky movements . Regrettably I have to use Xfinity Stream for most all major network televised football games. Any suggestions?

Hello, @user_0a4ea9. Thank you for reaching out and giving us your detailed feedback regarding the Stream App. I understand the new version does not meet your needs, and you aren't fully happy with the changes. Given the things you outlined, I can see why this hasn't been a good first impression for you. I get there are certain features and functionally that you had before which are no longer set-up the same. I wanted to let you know we certainly hear you, and we will take all your feedback. If you run into technical issues with the app, we are always here to help. My team is here to provide any support you need.

When I watch football through the xfinity stream on my 2022 Samsung everything is blurry…however when I watch the same game through the xfinity stream app through my Roku connected to the Samsung tv the picture quality is excellent. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the xfinity stream on my tv but the picture quality is still blurry. Any idea why picture quality is better through Roku?

Agree with above comment. Why does technological "progress" usually mean a step BACKWARDS. All I wanted to do was find FoxSports on my TV with ComcastBeta, which is now "XfinityStream" and it's impossible to figure out. I gave up after 15 minutes of fiddling and clicking through a hundred bogus channels. WHAT KIND OF [Edited: "Inflammatory"] APP IS THIS? Did you learn nothing from the Beta????? Who designs your apps, [Edited: "Inflammatory"]? Then who approves your apps for release? [Edited: "Inflammatory"]. [Edited: "Language/Inflammatory"]. No TV channels? What kind of progress is that???? An app should be 1) Intuitive, 2) easy to use, 3) have main functionality easily accessible and 4) be reliable. This replacement app is none of these.
