Xfinity Stream works on phone, but not my roku tv

How come Xfinity Stream works fine on my phone using the app downloaded from the play store, but when I download it to my Roku TV, I get a message that says, "Unfortunately, we cannot support high speed data customers without a video subscription. Check out xfin.tv/shop to subscribe today!"

If I can use the app on my phone, why can't I on my Roku TV???

Thank you for reaching out to our team. I will be happy to look further into that streaming app issue from here. Are you a TV subscriber with us?

Thank you very much for the clarification. When I look at the eligibility for using a ROKU device with the stream app, I do see that:

To use the Xfinity Stream app, customers must:

  • Own a Roku device and be registered in the Roku Channel Store.
  • Be an Xfinity TV and Internet customer.
    • The Roku device must be in the same household it was activated in (Roku device with the Stream app must be in the same Xfinity WiFi as the X1 TV Box or Xfinity account).
