XfinityStream not working on LG Smart Tv

I just bought this TV, and this TV is connected to xfinity internet as well but any time I try to connect or even restart my router  and download the app onto my TV plus scanning the QR code it keeps saying "this package is not yet available on this device"

Is it only just lg tv's that this isn't working with or should I just get an xfinity flex box? This is quite disappointing to even just pay $20 a month for the basic package for this to not even work when trying all the recommended methods.

@user_g5lx7l Good morning! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to our Community Forums Team for assistance with your Xfinity Stream App. I'm happy to assist you in getting this resolved, and your TV up and running. Did you have a chance to check to see if your TV is one of the approved models? Additionally, the 2017 model is no longer compatible with the Stream App.

Why does this app just not work? I mean all the other apps work without issue but xfinity is just trash. Do better.

I am having the exact same issue. My LG was bought in 2021, so it has nothing to do with it being an incompatible tv. I get the same message as you stated. I have xfinity wifi. Very disappointed

@user_q32esq  I checked the boards and everything is working with the app on LG and other approved devices. TV apps are convenient, as a customer myself I recommend using a dedicated device to stream, such as a Roku, or Firestick. These https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-stream-app-faqs are all the allowed devices. While TV's may only get a small amount of processing power, dedicated devices like those or our Flex/Xumo boxes are amazing. They handle 4K content, and have a Voice Remote to find content easily. In the meantime you can Cast all of your content from a mobile device to the Smart TV. That will allow you to enjoy everything successfully on a big screen with no trouble, while you decide on what to get for the best streaming experience. This https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/troubleshooting-stream-portal-and-app helps troubleshoot the Xfinity Stream app in case you haven't checked it out.
