add a new app to favorite apps

How do you add an app to favorite apps on a samsung tv? The Favorite app list is full and I can't delete any, so how do you get a new one onto the list? I can select them and move them around, but I can't get the app I want on that list. I was able to when I first got Xumo, but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it.

@pmeltech To add an app to your favorite list (Apps row) on your Xfinity Xumo Stream Box;

  • Launch the App: Start by launching the app you want to add to your favorites. Exit to Home Screen: Press the "home" button on your remote to return to the Xumo Stream Box home screen.
  • Navigate to Apps Row: Find the tile for the app you just launched in the top row of your home screen.
  • Select App Menu: Press the "..." button on your remote while the app tile is highlighted.
  • Add to Apps Row: Select "Add to Apps Row" from the menu.
  • Optional: Rearrange: You can then move the app to a different position in the Apps row by pressing the "..." button again and using the navigation pad on your remote.

DreamSayerZ,

Thank you for your response to my question. I did as you suggested, but when I press the "..." button on the highlighted top row app I only have three options 1.)Search, 2.)Closed Captions {on-off}, or 3.)Voice Guidance {on-off}. Did I get a bad Xumo update or did they just remove this option? I had several 'Favorite apps' disappear earlier in the week and that's why I have been trying to replace them.

Hey @pmeltech, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We can most certainly try and help with the Xumo Stream Box apps favorites. Could you please try the following steps:

-> Scroll to the end of the Apps row on your home screen and select "Manage Apps" or "Settings" > "Viewing Preferences" > "Manage Favorite Apps".

-> Select "Manage"

-> "Choose your Favorites" screen. You should see your 15 favorite apps.

-> Select Continue to see your "Manage your Favorites" screen.

-> Select "Clear All"

Please let me know if these steps work for you.

This did not work for me and I have the same issue. The 15 apps that are listed no longer include any of the apps I actually want to favorite. What is going on here.

@XfinityDemitrius

Thanks for the help, but this also does not work on my system.

1.) I scroll to the end of apps row, it says "Manage apps" and I select.

2.) "Choose your Favorites" screen appears, there are 18 favorites apps available to check or uncheck.

3.) Options here are "Continue" or "Cancel" If you have some of the apps selected (checked) you can continue otherwise it just sits there until you select an app.

4.) Once you select apps from the previous screen and select "continue" you go to "Manage your favorites" screen, where it shows the apps you selected in the previous step and gives you the options of "Manage" or "Clear all".

5.) Selecting "Clear all" only removes the apps check mark therefor removing them from "Manage your favorites" screen, but it does not remove them from "Choose your favorites" leaving me with the exact same apps as my only choice for my favorites.

I need to clear them from "Choose your favorites" in order to get new favorites listed.

I appreciate you giving that a shot and apologize that it's giving you some grief. You can also try to clear the locally stored data on the Xumo box, which would clear all preferences and saved information. The only drawback from trying this is that it may clear the login credentials on the apps, which would require you to sign in on the next use for any app.
