Casting Issue with Xfinity Stream App on Google TV

Dear Xfinity Support Team,

I am writing to report a technical issue with the Xfinity Stream app.

I can successfully cast apps like YouTube from my mobile phone to my TV, but I am unable to cast from the Xfinity Stream app to my new TCL Google TV. When I try to cast with the Stream App I don't see the TV.  I can see my Google Nest Hub, but not the TV.  Ideally I would like the app to be directly available on the TV, but I understand that is currently not an option.  I wish I knew that before I bought this TV....

Could you please assist me in troubleshooting this issue?

Thank you,

Matt

Hello @user_b87ef7 Thank you for reaching out and detailing the issue you're having with the Xfinity Stream app and your new TCL Google TV. I understand how frustrating it is when a feature works perfectly with other apps. Can you confirm the type of mobile device you're using?

Thank you so much for the timely response!  I have a Pixel 9XL for my phone.  I also can not cast from my Windows 11 laptop.  Thank you again.

@user_b87ef7 You are more than welcome! Here are a few things to check out:

Double-check that both devices are on the exact same network (e.g., ensure you are connected to your main in-home network and not a public "xfinitywifi" hotspot).

Unplug the power cord for your TCL Google TV for a minute, then plug it back in. Also, restart your phone and laptop.

Ensure you have the latest version of the Xfinity Stream app (on your phone) and Google Chrome browser (on your laptop), as well as any available software updates for your TCL Google TV.
