Go back button on iOS app not working

The “go back 15 seconds” button doesn’t work in the iOS app, especially on the Lock Screen. At least not with recorded MSNBC shows in my library. Sometimes it actually goes forward. Please fix. Fails with Apple CarPlay too.

sfogel2 That sounds incredibly frustrating! Thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums about the issue you are having wiht the stream app on your Apple products.  Having the "go back 15 seconds" button jump forward, especially on your DVR recordings of MSNBC shows, definitely defeats the purpose of the feature. I understand why you want this fixed, and it's a known annoyance that many users experience. The fact that it happens on the Lock Screen and with Apple CarPlay suggests it's a deeper bug within the Xfinity Stream iOS app's integration with the device's system controls.

Here are the best steps to try that often resolve temporary glitches:

Xfinity App Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Force-Quit and Re-open the App: Completely close the Xfinity Stream app from your iPhone's App Switcher (swipe up on the home screen, then swipe the app preview away). Wait a few seconds, then reopen it.

  2. Restart Your Device: A simple restart of your iPhone or iPad can clear up system memory and often fixes unexpected app behavior.

  3. Check for Updates: Go to the App Store and make sure you have the absolute latest version of the Xfinity Stream app installed. Developers often release updates specifically to address bugs like this.

  4. Reinstall the App (Last Resort): Delete the Xfinity Stream app completely, restart your device, and then download and install it again from the App Store. You will need to sign back in.

If the issue continues after trying these steps, please let me know.

My Xfinity stream app constantly freezes after watching for a while and then hitting the back button.  The only solution is to unplug the tv.  This app is horrible.

And the answer can’t be to constantly having to reinstall the app or rebooting the WiFi.  No other app has these issues.
