I seriously doubt that posting this will even help. Please DO NOT give me your scripted analysis or ask me to test things as this is a problem with the Xfinity Streaming application itself!
The app is installed on an LG TV. You cannot hop to some channels (not all, but some). The sign that its not going to hop is when the app is switching to a different channel, you only get the flashing 3 horizontal dots. If you get that, its hung and you have to totally exist the app and restart it. The sign that its going to work correctly is if the channel logo shows along with the flashing 3 horizonal dots. This issue has been going on for way over a year and has been posted on other threads.
The other issue is that the app takes forever to start.
This is an application development issue, so don't attempt to diagnose it with me.

Hello StellarFusion. Thanks for reaching out to us on our Xfinity Forums and sharing the trouble you are having with the Xfinity stream app on the LG TV. I'm sorry that the app is failing and forcing you to restart. I know how inconvenient this can be and as you shared seems like it may be an issue with the app. With any reported issue we have to run through a few troubleshooting steps and a ticket is created from there for our repair teams who are able to work with the engineers and developers for issues like this. I know you don't want a script to troubleshoot, but in order to get this over to the right team for assistance we would have to ask for your specific account details in direct message and run through a few steps like uninstalling and reinstalling the app, making sure the TV software is updated and things along those lines. We are happy to help out and don't want to ask you to repeat anything you may have already completed, but there are a few things we are required to complete before the ticket can be created for the repair teams.
