internet data increased after upgrading my data and modem

My internet increased last month so I increased from 600mbs to 1.2 GB a much larger amount of data (Double). In less than a month I had already used 95% of data. This is strange nothing in my household changed except the added new modem supplied by Comcast and increased data service. Strange what is going on. I'm stuck with contract and at this point I am upset.

@user_lejaxp You increased the speed of your Internet, not the amount of data you receive. If you are reaching your data cap, they should have recommended a plan that gives you unlimited data. The Xfinity rep should have explained this to you or went over this before increasing your speed. That was unnecessary and did not solve your problem. Other than increase your bill! 

Is reaching your data cap something new that's just started to happen? I would check your data usage history in the Xfinity app. If you do a lot of streaming, or have a lot of users online in household could have caused this. Sometimes it just happens in a month and not others.  I would hold tight here until an Xfinity rep reaches out to you to assist further with this issue.

I followed the instruction above yesterday and no one has contacted me.  How long before someone calls or emails me? My upgrade was on 3-3-2025 from 600 MBS to 1.2 MBS and as of the 24 Mar I was already at 90% usage. That does not make any sense. Can I cancel? Not a happy customer
