missing episode of mystery road: orgin

We obtain Acorn TV through Comcast/XFinity. We have successfully watched many programs.  One of the latest we have been trying to watch is Mystery Road: Origin. We have been able to watch Season 2, Episodes 1, 2 and 3. When we try to watch Episode 4, we instead see Episode 7 of Season 19 of Murdoch Mysteries (guest star Sally Lindsay; episode title: Murder She Wrote).

We checked on

Episode 5 of Season 2 of Mystery Road: Origin and that does display play correctly.  We can tell that there is a gap in the story presented in Episode 3 and Episode 5. The summaries of Episodes 3, 4 5 that I can see on the Acorn TV website also make it clear that Episode 4 is missing when we stream

Please advise how we can view Episode 4 of Season 2 of Mystery Road: Origin without an additional charge.

user_j8gtng Thanks for creating a post. Sorry to hear that the episode is not only airing the wrong episode, but seems like the wrong show as well. We are limited in reviewing or changing a third-party app, but I'd recommend checking if you can stream through the app on other devices to see if you get the same results. Have you also tried reaching out to Acorn TV to see if they have a workaround for the episode?

We were trying to watch on our TV which uses our X1 box the same way we watched all the other episodes.   I did just try a quick check with the XFinity Stream app on my iPad and that does properly display episode 4 of season 2 of Mystery Road: Origin.   If we try to use the Acorn app on the TV or a computer or tablet we are prompted to login with an Acorn account.  We do not have an Acorn account because we buy our subscription to Acorn TV through our Comcast account.  I do not understand what third party app you think we are using to do the viewing on our TV.

Acorn TV says this is not their issue as we purchase our subscription through Comcast.  Their support person said they verified that the correct episode is displayed when logged into the Acorn app with their account.

user_j8gtng thank you for that additional insight. So we wanted to ensure that the service was working as intended for you on another device, but not necessarily another app. When you find the episode in the app, are you presented with any options to save or record it?

There were some options in the Xfinity Stream app including download and Watch Options (4 for ON Demand showing ACORN at the right and one for "TV Go" also showing ACORN on the right).

The funny thing is that my husband just went to the TV to watch something else and just for grins he tried the episode of Mystery Road: Origin and it is now displaying correctly.

So we can consider this resolved "by unknown means".

Thank you for your time.

user_j8gtng okay that is very odd that the issue has resolved on its own in that way, but we are glad to hear that you are now able to enjoy your favorite program as intended. By the way, would you recommend the series as my partner and I have been trying to find something new to get into.
