PBS recordings disappeared

I have been recording a PBS series on DVR.  All the recordings are gone.  It’s only 10% or so full.  All my other recordings are still there. Please advise.

user_skjvor Hello and thank you for reaching out via social media. I can help you with that! It's definitely frustrating when a whole series of recordings disappears, especially when your DVR isn't full. We can look into this for you.

To get started, let's try a few things that often solve this issue.

Step 1: Check Your "Recently Deleted" Folder

Sometimes, recordings can be accidentally deleted or moved. The first place to check is your "Recently Deleted" folder.

  1. Press the Xfinity button on your remote.

  2. Go to Saved.

  3. Select Recently Deleted.

If you find the recordings there, you can restore them.

Step 2: Restart Your DVR Box

A simple restart can often resolve a wide range of issues, including recordings that aren't showing up correctly. This will not delete your existing recordings.

  1. Unplug the power cord from your DVR box.

  2. Wait for about 60 seconds.

  3. Plug the power cord back in.

  4. Wait for the box to fully restart. This can take several minutes.

Once it's back on, check your recordings list again.

Step 3: Check the Xfinity Stream App
If the recordings still aren't there, it's a good idea to check the Xfinity Stream app or website. This will help us determine if the issue is with your physical DVR box or with the recordings themselves.

  1. Open the Xfinity Stream app on your phone or tablet, or go to the website on your computer.

  2. Log in with your Xfinity ID and password.

  3. Navigate to the Saved section to see if the PBS series appears in your recordings list there.

If you see the recordings in the app but not on your TV, it indicates a sync issue that we may need to address.

If you've tried these steps and are still missing the recordings, please let me know. We may need to investigate further to figure out what happened.
