Same quality issues with Paramount+

I've just read through the Paramount+ issues thread, and I can attest that we have been suffering from the same quality issues.  The symptoms are: a)very slow to load and initialize; it takes over a minute just to start up; b) very low resolution video quality - example: today watching a Champions League football match, the players were just blobs on the pitch; and c) the service regularly freezes whilst we get the reload circle; this happened often enough that by the end of the 90-min match, we were about 2-3 minutes behind realtime.  These issues are only with Paramount+; none of the other streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Peacock, Hulu, ESPN, etc) have these problems.  Also, I can log into Paramount+ on my latptop and it's just fine.  This problem is with Xfinity X1 and Paramount+ directly wired via hdmi to my 55" Sony TV.  And it's chronic - we're experiencing it on every football match.

What can be done to fix this problem?

@user_4n66xk Until someone from Xfinity jumps in to assist, is your Sony TV smart with apps built in? If so, I would access Paramount+ that way. Or if you have another streaming device, such as Roku or Fire stick etc.

Another round of Champions League matches this week.  Same symptoms on the Xfinity setup, but - following your advice - what worked much better was to log into Paramount+ from a laptop (MacBook Pro) and then connect to the Sony TV via HDMI.  The video quality is MUCH better this way.  Clearly a kludge, but it worked well.

Hello, user_4n66xk! I apologize that Paramount+ has been giving you such trouble when trying to watch the programs. I appreciate that you let me know each symptom and how your are wired in. That is always helpful. If you have more than 1 TV box is this happening on all of them or 1 box in particular?

I understand you read through the thread already so may have tried steps to fix this. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps such as clearing the locally stored data or sending a system refresh signal?
