Not sure what you are asking. There is probably no Xfinity app for the TV, so yes, you will need a separate box. And even then, the app is a poor substitute for a real box.

Xfinity indicated they were working on a solution to the compatibility issue with the Sony Bravia TV. The tech folks said a solution for connection to Xfinity Home without a box is in process. Just trying to avert the added box expense in addition to being able to move the TV around the home in different areas.
