Streaming Issue - "...cannot support high speed data customers without a video subscription"

I started new internet service at a home and downloaded the Xfinity streaming app on a TCL Roku TV.  I get the "...cannot support high speed data customers without a video subscription" when I try to stream Xfinity channels.  Some googling shows that this has been a common issue but I haven't found a fix.  Can anybody help?

@user_bdada1 Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team. I hate to hear this has been your experience and would love to investigate this for you! The Xfinity Stream app is for cable customers. If you do not have a subscription, you will not have access to the content.

Thank you for providing that update, @user_bdada1, I can see how confusing it would be to receive that error while having a video subscription. Please send us a direct message with your full name and service address so we can review the account details further.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (upper right corner of this page)

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send your message
