Streaming problem with Xfinity App on smart TV

I'm experiencing issues with streaming from the Xfinity Stream app on my smart TV. The app works great EXCEPT when transitioning back to programming from only certain commercials, but not all. Specifically, there are a few commercials; if shown just prior to when regular programming is to begin again, the app will not make the streaming transition without attempting it at least three or four times before it works. This means I miss at least a minute or two of programming content while waiting for the app to successfully return to the program. Are any other users having a similar problem? If so, have you been able to solve it?

There seems to be a transition/handshake issue going on with audio and video. I am missing the last and first 5 seconds of the last few commercials before programming begins, and again when the show starts. It is getting worse. Now I get a lot of black screens with audio after some commercials and have to quit the app and go back in to view it. Never an issue with any other app.

I haven't tried any possible fixes yet. I was hoping someone out there has already solved this problem, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel.  Do you have suggestions about what potential fixes I should try, and in what order, if the first and/or second don't work?

We would recommend ensuring your Smart TV has the latest software or firmware update and, ensuring you have the latest Xfinity Stream app version.

Also, you will want to ensure your TV is getting a strong Wi-Fi signal. Often times if you are not getting a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout out your home, or to a device there may be something that is interfering with the broadcast. Placement of the Xfinity Gateway (modem/router) is key in your home and is best to have in a central area of your home. For optimal Wi-Fi coverage and strength, ensure your Gateway is:

*Placed in a central area of your home.
*Elevated (off of the floor) and in an upright position.
*In an open space, free of obstructions.
*Using one WiFi Name and Password for your home network.

Also, to minimize interference with your Wi-Fi signal, place your Gateway away from:
*Walls and furniture.
*Metal surfaces (including computer cases).
*Halogen/fluorescent lighting.
*Microwaves and refrigerators.
*TVs and computer monitors.
*Most cordless phones.
*Baby monitors.
*Large amounts of water (like aquariums and water heaters).
