Terrible DVR experience

For the past 3 months we have had terrible DVR experience.  It does record but not in 4k or HDMI.  When we use that set (X1-all our store gives us when we visit over an hour away), streaming Netflix, AMazon Prime and especially Paramont +, is choppy, and cannot keep up and downloads accur throughout content delivery.  I am legally deaf so have to use CC.  This really slows down streaming.  ANd, on weekends, we cannot access  Paramont + at all.  WE had an xG1v4 but had a problem and all we can get back are X1.  Help

Hello, @ibmpete thank you for taking time to create a post. You have contacted the right place for assistance, and wanted to get the proper expectations set up on how Xfinity Forums replies work. This is a communities forum where it can take up to 2 days to get a reply from a Xfinity employee. Other great Xfinity Forums users have a chance to assist, and communicate with other users. I would definitely like to help with the DVR concern, and see you had mentioned that it's not recording in 4K or HD. You do have to have a 4K compatible X1 DVR to record that content, if you have a HD DVR it should be recording HD quality programming. 

- Are you recording shows of channels that are HD? 

Paramout + is as streaming App that is accessible through X1 set-top boxes, when using the App it is not live TV and it's content is streamed using your internet connection. The regular CC features on your X1 don't work when using a streaming App (Paramount +, Netflix, Apple TV, etc), you need to control CC through the App settings. When mentioning the streaming content is choppy, this could be due to the connection with your set-top and the internet. 

- Are you attempting to turn the CC on inside the Paramount + App, and it's not working? 

- When experiencing streaming issues, do you notice any internet/home network connection issues?
