ubject: Xfinity Stream App No Longer Casting to My Second-Home TV

I have been successfully casting programs to the TV at my second home using the Xfinity Stream app for several months. Today, although I can still view channels on all these devices, both my Android tablet and phone have stopped casting shows from the Xfinity Stream app to the TV.

To clarify, this is not a Comcast home. My Windows PC can still access the Xfinity Stream website and cast to the TV without any problems. YouTube also recognizes the TV on all my devices, and Google TV streams successfully to the same TV using either my tablet or phone.

After spending a full hour troubleshooting with Xfinity technical support, it appears the problem may be specific to the Xfinity Stream app on my Android devices.

Since other apps and devices can still cast to the TV successfully, can Comcast identify what may have changed or provide a fix for the Xfinity Stream app? I would appreciate any guidance on resolving this issue.

I am having a similar issue. Two days ago casting stopped working from my Samsung phone to my Vizio TV using Xfinity Stream. I can csst from other apps to my TV however not from the Xfinity Stream app. Prior to two days ago, everything was fine.

@user_vf6za3 Are you still experiencing issues at this time? Have you been able to check your devices' system requirements for the Stream app on the link above?

No change. The casting works using an iPad. Both my Samsung tablet and Samsung phone continue to get the same message. "unable to find a casting device"

I'm having the same issue casting from my Samsung phone. Both the tv and phone are on the same network and the network is functioning correctly. I can cast from YouTube and othe apps, just not the one I pay a ton of $$$ for. It was working fine a few days ago. Seems every time Comcast updates something goes wrong.

@user_y0i5oc The original poster says it's fixed, did yours start casting again?

I just got home, checked and it's working again.

To be honest, this is very frustrating. I did nothing and magically it works again. I wasted money on buying a Firestick because after speaking with 10+ people Thur thru Sat and a tech coming out on Sun, noone knew why I was experiencing the issue. It would have been helpful if Xfinity was more transparent. Thanks for any help, if provided.

Hi @user_e594b7 I'm sorry for the issues you're having with your Android devices. I would like troubleshooting, so we can find a resolution for you.

Because some devices are working I would like to have you check the system requirements for those devices. I have a link with the Xfinity Stream app minimum system requirements

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-tv-app-requirements

Can you also check to see if your devices' requirement any updates?

Can you also check and confirm you're using the latest version of the Xfinity Stream app for those devices?

It appears to be an incompatibility with Samsung devices. I lost casting ability from my Samsung phone last Thursday. I spoke with 2 advanced techs at Xfinity and tech came out. No success. I purchased a fire stick and will continue checking to see if compatibility issues are resolved.
