Unlink Peacock

I’ve been trying to unlink my free peacock premium subscription, but it keeps giving me an error.  I want to deactivate this subscription because I want to get Peacock through a different service.  But when I try to do that, it cannot activate because Peacock is tied to Xfinity. I contacted Peacock and they said Xfinity needs to unlink it from my account.

Can you please unlink it from my account, every time I have tried it says error (picture attached)

Thanks for posting on our Community Forums for assistance, NickMcJ. Unfortunately, since this is a free subscription with your current plan, there's no way for us to unlink it. To remove the subscription, we'd have to change your rate to a promotion that does not include it. Or you can use a different email address to sign up. Just keep in mind that a new account means the History/watch list on your old account will be gone. Have you tried using a different email address to sign up?

That does not make sense though. Why is there an option to unlink it, but then you say that you need to change our rate to be able to unlink it? Creating a new account does not make sense because you should just be able to unlink it if you would rather pay directly.

user_g7pxkf I understand, but that's the only way to do it as we can't unlink it. Since it's free, it will just roll off once it expires anyway.

XfinityShawn is a liar, and this is an absolute scam. Once the free 12-month period ends, Peacock begins to charge at $10.99+Tax. It does not "fall off." They hope that you just forget you ever subscribed, and don't allow you to cancel the "free" service to ensure that you do forget. I will be reporting this to the BBB.

Good morning @user_8y3nna, and thanks for posting to the Xfinity forums, I hope this message finds you well. If you have a promotion on your account for Peacock premium that is for a one or two year deal, after the promotional period that offer is not supposed to continue automatically unless specified. If you had the service get added after the promo, we can take a look and see why. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window, please add your full name and address
• Press Enter to send it

This is happening to me too and it's infuriating. I just want the cheaper upgrade via different bundling. Absolute nightmare of a service, this is. If anyone is reading this wondering if they should link their accounts for the 'free' app with ads, do not link your Xfinity account to anything.
