Xfinity Stream crashes but only on latest generation Firestick

Amazon Firestick HD 2nd Gen.

S/W version OS 1.2

Fire TV Home Version 1.72.0.297062.0

I have a new Firestick as well as several older Firesticks.  I have no issues with the older units.  All are running off of the same WiFi.  It isn't an issue with the TV... when I swap firesticks, the issue stays with the newer Firestick.  I've even tried using external USB power instead of relying on the TV's USB port.

One the new Firestick, I am only having issues with Xfinity Stream crashing.  All other apps work fine.

The Xfinity Stream app will frequently (every 10-15 minutes) crash and revert to the Firestick home screen.   It will sometimes indicate that there is a connectivity issue but when I run a speed test, it looks good.   And, again, there are no issues with other apps.

Is there a solution to this or do I need to ask Amazon to replace the newer Firesticks with an older generation (if available)?

user_gacwd4 Hello! One thing to check is to make sure you are using the latest Xfinity Stream firmware, which should be version 8.12 or later requiring Fire OS 6 or higher to run properly. Here is a link that shows the minimum requirements for using the Stream App.

Is it possible to add a mute button option on Xfinity Stream when watching a program?

OldTVGuide That's a great suggestion! Currently, the Xfinity Stream app doesn't offer a dedicated mute button within the video player, so audio must be controlled through your device's volume controls or TV/remote settings. We appreciate the feedback, and feature suggestions like this help improve the streaming experience for all users.
