Xfinity Stream Smart TV App - Error TVAPP-01005

I have 2 different smart TVs (LG OLED purchased new in 2022 and Samsung Frame TV purchased new in 2025).  I've successfully downloaded and installed the Xfinity Stream app on both TVs.  However, when signing into the app on either TV app, I receive the same error message "Error:  TVAPP-01005".  Both TVs are connected to WiFi, and I've tried multiple connections to resolve it, including using a wired ethernet connection.  The Xfinity Stream app works fine on my iPhone and iPad.  I've tried updating the TV's software multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, etc.  Anyone have a similar issue that has been resolved?  One of the TVs is installed in a room that does not have a cable connection so adding additional cable boxes is not possible.

Thank you for reaching out to us here. Have you tried updating the TV firmware, reinstalling the app, clearing cache/data, or power cycling your modem?

Xfinity customer support was able to resolve this for me.  The issue was that my account was still linked to a prior address that I had transferred service from 3 years ago.  Customer support was able to walk me through the process of unlinking the prior account, which allowed the Xfinity Stream app to work on the 2 smart TVs in my house.  If helpful, the process was:

  1. Login to Xfinity account on xfinity.com
  2. Click "Account" in top right corner
  3. Click "Account and Identity"
  4. Click "Xfinity ID and Security"
  5. Click "Manage and Link Accounts"

In my case, from there I needed to make my current address the default account, and then I was able to unlink my prior address.  After a restart of the TVs the Xfinity Stream app was able to work.
