Xfinity streaming incompatible with firestick 2nd gen

It seems the xfinity streaming app is incompatible with Amazon's 2nd gen firestick.  After installing and opening the app, a message pops up telling me to upgrade the android software to 5.0 and then install the app. The android version is 5.2.9.3. Is there a fix for this?

@user_2961b8 After 50 minutes on the phone with Amazon, we discovered that the TV is the issue. They said the TV system needs to running a 6.0 got Xfinity Stream app.  My LG Thin has 5.2 system & that is why it is "unavailable" on this device.

No! You need a serial number of 6.xxx or higher for Comcast equipment. It may still work on non-Comcast equipment.

@MNtundraRET

Which serial number are you referring to? Serial number on the Fire TV box or the TV itself?

I do not have any Comcast equipment though. I have my own router. I had an Xfinity Flex Box but it was on its own HDMI Input, as is the Fire TV, & it was not plugged in at the time. My LG TV is not very user friendly, imo.
